” … to set at liberty the oppressed”

Listen to Burmese pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, as she explores the meaning of freedom in the first and second of the Reith Lecture series of 2011 covering the topic of Securing Freedom.

Drawing on her experience of house arrest in Burma, she explores the universal human aspiration to be free and the spirit that drives people to dissent. She compares recent events of the Arab Spring with years of protest in Burma.

Remember all who fight for justice and political liberation despite the threat to their own safety and those close to them. Pray for strength to overcome and to endure.
