United Nations Day. 24 October and One World Week. 23 – 30 October. Living for One World

“Global problems demand global solutions,”  Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary General, said today in a message for United Nations Day, on the sixty sixth anniversary of the founding of the organization. “They compel all nations to unite in action on an agenda for the world’s people. That is the very mission of the United Nations.”

Remember: the first UN General Assembly was held at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster from 10 – 14 January 1946. All round the world people are observing UN Day and recognising the contribution of the UN to peace, justice and sustainability.
